Healing Lung Cancer in 30 Days: The Journey That Changed My Life Forever

Updated: Apr 16

Hello and welcome to The Identity Shifter Blog where we explore the incredible power of the mind, body, and soul to transform career, health and wellbeing.

I’m Polly, a Spiritual Health Transformation Coach. I’m so grateful you’re here.

Today, I want to take you on a very personal journey. It’s the story of how I helped my dad heal from lung cancer, in just 30 days, using holistic healing and the power of the mind, and how this changed my life forever.

This isn’t just a recovery story. It’s about possibility. About faith, family, and unlocking the incredible healing potential we all have inside of us.

Whether you’re going through a health challenge yourself, supporting someone you love, or simply curious about what’s possible beyond traditional medicine. I hope this story will deeply inspire you.

So take a deep breath with me… and let’s begin.

Context

In September 2024, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer.

When I first heard the news, I felt like the world had stopped. I was in shock. Complete disbelief. My dad is healthy. He exercises regularly, quit smoking eight years ago, and spends his retirement doing what he loves: painting. He’s kind, gentle, deeply compassionate… the last person I’d expect to face a disease like this.

At that time, I had already been studying self-development and the Law of Attraction. I had learned that by unlocking the power of our subconscious mind, and aligning with universal laws, we can create extraordinary change. I knew it on a conscious level, but it hadn’t yet settled into my subconscious belief, until then.

That night, I prayed. I asked the universe, “If I can achieve anything… let me help my dad heal. Let him become cancer-free in 30 days. No chemo. No aggressive treatment. Just the power of love, belief, and intention.”

It may sound absurd. I’m not a doctor. I have no scientific background. But I had a deep desire and an unwavering belief that we could do something different.

From the following day, I devoted every moment to building my belief. Every second mattered.

  1. I consciously shifted my perception. This illness wasn’t a tragedy. It would become a transformation. I didn’t know how yet, but I made that belief my foundation.

  2. I’d previously used the Law of Attraction to achieve career and financial goals. But now, I wanted to believe in its power for something much deeper. I created a mantra: “The doctors will heal Dad scientifically and logically; we will heal him unscientifically and illogically with the power of our minds.”

  3. I consciously created a belief that illness was only an appearance. The ultimate truth is health. If I stayed focused on truth, I could become a mastermind, and anything was possible.

Time was pressing. Dad was losing weight and energy fast, and constantly coughed at night. The giant in our family was crumbling, and everyone was in despair.

I knew this was a test from the Universe. It was time to apply everything I had learned, to step up and steady the ship with belief and action.

After a massive cry that night, I began taking action.

1. Goal Setting

To create transformation, we needed a vision. I called my dad the next morning and asked, “If you were fully healthy one year from now, what would you want to do?”

After a long pause, he said, “I’d love to go to Australia with the family. And I want to exhibit my artwork in a gallery.”

That became our vision: a future filled with joy, purpose, and life.

I acted immediately. Within an hour, I arranged an art exhibition with Dad’s art teacher, six months away.

When I told my parents, they were shocked. “Why the pressure?” they asked. “We don’t know how Dad’s health will be.”

It was a reasonable concern. But I knew if we were going to work with universal laws, we had to act with faith, as if it had already happened.

I told them, “Dad will be healthy enough. I know it.”

“How do you know? Even the doctor doesn’t know.”

“I know because when we align our minds, we will heal him unscientifically and illogically.”

Witnessing their confusion and doubts, I turned to my mum. “What do you want?”

Through tears, she said, “I want the doctor to say there are no more cancer cells.”

We reframed that into a goal: “The doctor declares the lungs are clean and in full health.” We wrote it down and posted it on the wall.

From that day on, it became our family intention.

2. Paradigm Shift

I believe our reality follows where our attention goes, so we need to be mindful of what we surround ourselves with.

We began creating our new reality. We stopped reading about cancer. We stopped discussing illness. We focused solely on our beliefs: “Dad is healed. The lungs are clean. The doctor confirms it. We’re going to Australia.”

We watched travel videos of Australia. Picked out photo spots. My sister, a graphic designer, even Photoshopped family pictures into those dream destinations. We printed them and hung them up.

3. Manifestation

Each morning, we repeated our mantra and visualised our dream across three continents in Asia, Europe and the US. Whenever fear crept in, we returned to those visions, until they felt real in every cell of our bodies.

Each night before sleep, I visualised walking with Dad up a hill in Australia, his steps strong and light. I imagined him at his art exhibition, smiling and saying, “I’ve never felt better.”

It became a movie playing in my mind on repeat, to the point where I cried out of joy before I fell asleep every night.

4. Transformation

Two weeks in, things shifted. Dad’s appetite returned. His weight stabilised. Blood sugar normalised. It was like his body was responding to a new energy, a new reality.

Then came surgery to determine how advanced the cancer was. We were advised it was likely to be stage 3 or below.

After the operation, I sat with Dad in his hospital room alone. He opened up about his heartbreak over closing down the factory he’d built from scratch at age 29. That unspoken grief, buried for decades, was surfacing.

I knew in my soul that this emotional release was key. In Eastern medicine, disease is often the result of trapped emotional energy. And now, it is being released gradually.

Two weeks later, we returned for results. The doctor, hesitant and confused, said:

“We couldn’t find any cancer cells anymore in the tumor. What we removed were just infected tissue cells. Your dad’s treatment is completed. He is free to go.”

We were stunned, but at the same time, not as surprised, because it was exactly what we believed..

No chemo. No radiation. Just belief, intention, love, and emotional healing.

  1. Results

I returned home in December to with dad for a further check in 3 months. The doctor once confirmed that the lung is completely clear of cancer cells and in good condition.

We were overjoyed.

One month later, we as a family went on a two-week road trip to New Zealand as we initially planned, with a location change. In one of the scheduled that my brother planned, we went to climb a famous spot, Mount Cook, on the southern island.

When we climbed up, I suddenly had a deja vu moment. I have experienced this thousands of times in my mind. Dad walked alongside me, with steps strong and light.

Only this time, it was in real life.

6 months later, Dad's paintings have gone on display in a local gallery, as promised by the universe.

My Commitment to You

When I reflected on the whole thing, I counted down the date and realized that we got the result exactly 30 days after I committed to the universe.

And this was the moment that changed everything for me.

Because what I haven’t shared yet is…

The night I prayed for my dad, I didn’t truly believe it was possible. I was scared. But I made a sacred wish to the Universe:

"If my dad heals...if this truly works...Then I will devote the rest of my life to sharing this power. I will study and teach others the mind-body connection. I will become a guide for healing."

When my dad walked out of the hospital, healed in 30 days, I knew this was no coincidence. It was a divine calling.

This post… my coaching… every word I speak… it all flows from that promise.

I know, from the bottom of my heart, we are a co-creator of our healing. And I am here because I’ve lived the truth of what’s possible.

This journey led me back to Eastern and energy medicine, which sees the body as one interconnected system. Where chronic disease is not a curse, but a signal. A call to release what no longer serves us.

When we combine the best of Eastern and Western wisdom, we create real, lasting transformation: healing body, mind, and soul.

And that’s the foundation of my From Illness to Wellness coaching service—a framework for reclaiming your power, reconnecting with your truth, and healing from within.

Final Words...

If you or someone you love is facing a chronic illness, please know this:

You are not powerless. You are not broken. Your body holds immense wisdom and strength.

When you align your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs with healing, the results can be extraordinary. The doctor can help ease the symptoms and pain, but ultimately, you are the best doctor for your healing, from the inside out.

Your inner wisdom will guide you in the process. What you need to do is surrender, believe, and act on your true divine self.
